Trying to bridge the gap between common headphones and expensive systems, cat-x decided to develop a cost-effective, handheld, monophonic speaker system for museums in cooperation with aws designteam. The result was a craftable, reduced design out of an aluminum tube and two cover plates for the daily use in exhibitions. Since the product was launched in early 2011, it has been implemented in numerous museums throughout Europe.
